Realtor, Vernon S. Waligora.  The managing broker at Waligora & Company.   

Vernon graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grammar School in Daly City, California.   Traveled across town to San Francisco and enrolled at Riordan High School.   After graduation, enrolled at San Jose State University.   Studied Business Administration.

 

He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1956.   He was assigned to India Company, Third Battalion, Fifth Marines at Camp Margarita in Camp Pendleton located in Southern California.    He passed the Corporal Examination.  Trained as a fire team leader and squad leader.   He was offered a chance to enroll at the Marine Corps Quantico Virginia Training Center to become a Marine Officer at the end of his enlistment.  He declined and went back into civilian life.

 

He later enrolled and graduated from San Francisco City College.  He also attended San Francisco State University and the University of San Francisco.   He continued to attend many other colleges around the bay area to further his knowledge in various aspects of the real estate business.  

 

He obtained a real estate salesman's license in 1959.   He started working at several San Francisco and Daly City real estate firms.   He received his California Brokers License, 00292529, in 1962.    That year he joined and rented a desk at Callan Realty Company located in Daly City, California.  While at this firm, he was introduced to all phases of Commercial Real Estate.  The firm also had a separate development company dealing with new home sales and shopping center leasing.   He spent fifteen years with this company working as a managing Real Estate Broker.  

 

He started Waligora & Company in 1980.   It continued as a commercial and residential real estate company.  This firm also managed and leased commercial and residential buildings.

 

He had extensive dealings with the American Indian Tribes in managing and finding homes for its citizens coming off the reservation to start a new life in the San Francisco Bay Area.

 

He had extensive dealings with probate, foreclosed and bank repossessed properties.

 

During this time, he became the CO of Stan the Roof Man Inc, a roofing, siding, sheet metal, and construction company located in the San Francisco Bay Area.   This firm employed over 100 people.  This was a family business started by his late father, Stanley Waligora.  Stan ran the business until he got hurt on the job and turned the day to day business operations over to his son, Vernon S. Waligora.   Vernon obtained a general contractors license, sheet metal license, and a roofing and siding license.  The company was turned over to his son who later sold the business.  

 

Vernon is now concentrating his full efforts to the day to day operations of Waligora & Company.   It has several listing in San Mateo, San Francisco, and Sacramento Counties.

 

The investment section of Waligora & Company has entered the State of Nevada to located and purchase Real Estate.  The firm has purchased land and buildings in Washoe County located in Northern Nevada.    There is a belief this is an area that will continue to grow in real estate value throughout the next decade.

 

One of the firms projects is developing a piece of Commercial Property located on I-80 at Exist 43.  The property is located about 23 miles East of Reno and about 5 miles West of the City of Fernley, Nevada.   It includes a portion of the Truckee River as it meanders toward Pyramid Lake.

 

On a lighter note, Vernon enjoys telling clients about the hunting and fishing areas in and around Northern California and Nevada.  The hiking trails in the surrounding mountains.   Lake Tahoe is super for boating and snow skiing.   The high desert for its beautiful sunsets.   The abundance of wide life and plant life is amazing.
